How do I volunteer at ACORN?

ACORN uses a broad range of volunteers from the healthcare community in North Central Florida to help fulfill the Clinic's mission of providing high quality medical and dental care to our patients. Our use of healthcare professionals includes: physicians, dentists, dental hygienists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians' assistants and others.

We will be delighted to assist you in accessing appropriate volunteer opportunities wherever possible within our framework. The Clinic must meet certain requirements of outside funding or regulatory agencies for insurance and other purposes.

For the Dental Clinic, dentists, hygienists and assistants are welcome and appreciated. Flexible scheduling is available. ACORN staff dental assistants are provided for volunteer dentists.

At the Medical Clinic, there are now volunteer opportunities available in family practice, and various medical specialties, especially for the Tuesday night clinic. We work with volunteers in arranging schedules to suit their specific needs.
